Accelerating Human-Centered Change

I announced a new book and companion AI assessment tool this week. Both are launching in October, and both are designed to accelerate AI transformation for organizations and individuals.

The title of the book is, "The AI Transformation Blueprint: A Human-Centered Guide to Organizational Change." It’s a change management resource for leading transformation with urgency, clarity, and humanity.

The book introduces the AI Transformation System (AITS), a framework for moving from AI understanding and experimentation to sustained innovation and success with the goal of unlocking human potential, not replacing it.

If you’re coming to MAICON in Cleveland, Oct. 13-15, we’ll have a copy of the book waiting for you, and I’ll be doing a book signing at the SmarterX booth.

If you're not attending MAICON, you can join the book waitlist to get notified when it is publicly available.

AI Score by SmarterX

AI Score by SmarterX allows leaders to assess their organizations (Business AI Score), and individuals to assess themselves (Personal Score).

AI Score is based on the idea that transformation requires deep change management.

It cannot simply be technology—Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini—handed to employees who lack the context and understanding of how to use the tools, which is what is happening in many of the enterprises I talk with.

Business AI Score grades organizations across 8 pillars and 67 dimensions.

Personal AI Score grades individuals across 5 pillars and 37 dimensions.

Together they make AI transformation measurable and actionable.

We're planning to officially roll it out in public beta at MAICON, but you can join the AI Score waitlist now and get notified when access opens up.

What AI Score Does

  • Establish AI maturity baselines: One canonical score for the organization and one for each individual on a single grading scale of strong (80-100%), moderate (60-79%), weak (0-59%).
  • Identify gaps and opportunities: Pillar-by-pillar scores show where the foundation is solid and where to concentrate resources.
  • Prioritize next steps: Every dimension maps to an action ladder in The AI Transformation Blueprint, so a weak score becomes a to-do list.
  • Measure progress over time: Retake the assessment and watch the baseline move. Transformation is an ongoing process of change management and innovation.

8 Business AI Pillars

  1. Vision: Does leadership have clarity about AI's impact?
  2. Strategy: Is there a comprehensive AI transformation plan?
  3. Data: Is your data ready for AI?
  4. Technology: Do your people have the right tools, and do they use them?
  5. Governance: Can you trust how AI is being used?
  6. Literacy: Does your workforce know how to work with AI?
  7. People: Are you developing and supporting your people through the change?
  8. Performance: Is AI producing real results?

5 Personal AI Pillars

  1. Knowledge: Do you understand AI?
  2. Application: Can you put AI to work?
  3. Judgment: Do you use AI responsibly?
  4. Impact: Is AI making you better?
  5. Mindset: Are you built to keep growing?

The AI Transformation Blueprint is built on the same eight business pillars and five personal pillars that form the foundation of AI Score.

I’ll share more about AI Score on the podcast next week, including some of the backstory on its origin, how it was developed, and the tentative product roadmap.
