AI Academy is a high-growth business unit designed to prepare individuals and organizations for the future of work by making AI education accessible and personalized.
  • The Artificial Intelligence Show: The podcast is SmarterX’s fastest growing media channel with 65,000+ downloads per month. The podcast serves as a promotional tool and lead generator for SmarterX and its business units. 

SmarterX also has an internal AI Content Studio that supports audience growth, demand generation, and customer success across all brands / business units. The AI Content Studio produces blog posts, books, blueprints, courses, newsletters, podcasts, presentations, research, videos and webinars.

Role Overview

The Member Communications Manager is responsible for developing and managing onboarding, engagement, and retention communications to enhance the member experience in AI Academy. 

This role will leverage email marketing, personalized messaging, AI-driven automation, and data insights to optimize learning journeys and improve key metrics such as utilization, completion rates, retention, and Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding Communications

  • Design and implement automated onboarding sequences to guide new members through AI Academy’s courses and resources.
  • Develop welcome emails, tutorial content, and milestone check-ins to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
  • Continuously optimize onboarding flows to improve activation and early engagement rates.

Email Nurturing Sequences

  • Create and manage email campaigns that nurture members through their AI learning journey.
  • Develop sequences for engagement, re-engagement, milestone achievements, and course recommendations.
  • Optimize messaging based on member behavior, progress, and feedback.

Personalized Learning Journey Communications

  • Leverage AI-driven personalization to deliver targeted messages based on member interests, progress, and engagement patterns.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure members receive relevant course recommendations, learning tips, and exclusive opportunities.
  • Develop a communication strategy to encourage course completion and maximize engagement.

Performance Management of Email Campaigns

  • Track and analyze key email performance metrics (open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and engagement).
  • Use A/B testing and data insights to continuously improve email effectiveness.
  • Work closely with marketing, customer success, and AI agent teams to align messaging with business goals.

AI Agent Management

  • Oversee and optimize AI-powered member engagement agents to enhance communication and support.
  • Ensure AI agents are trained with up-to-date messaging and provide accurate, personalized responses to members.
  • Continuously refine AI-driven email automation and chat support to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, or customer engagement communications.
  • Strong understanding of marketing automation platforms, CRM tools, and AI-driven personalization.
  • Experience managing onboarding communications, email nurturing, and retention strategies.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze campaign performance and optimize engagement strategies.
  • Excellent copywriting, content development and email marketing skills.
  • Experience with HubSpot for email automation and performance tracking is preferred.
