- Marketing AI Institute: Media, event and education business founded in 2016 that is designed to make AI approachable and actionable for marketers. The Institute has more than 90,000 contacts, and its flagship in-person conference, MAICON, draws 1,000+ marketers to Cleveland each year.
- AI Academy by SmarterX: Originally launched in 2020 under the Marketing AI Institute brand, AI Academy is being spun off as a dedicated site and brand. AI Academy is a high-growth business unit designed to prepare individuals and organizations for the future of work by making AI education accessible and personalized.
- The Artificial Intelligence Show: The podcast is SmarterX’s fastest growing media channel with 65,000+ downloads per month. The podcast serves as a promotional tool and lead generator for SmarterX and its business units.
SmarterX also has an internal AI Content Studio that supports audience growth, demand generation, and customer success across all brands / business units. The AI Content Studio produces blog posts, books, blueprints, courses, newsletters, podcasts, presentations, research, videos and webinars.
Role Overview
The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for overseeing and executing digital marketing strategies and campaigns to enhance brand awareness, website performance, and audience engagement across SmarterX, Marketing AI Institute, AI Academy and The Artificial Intelligence Show.
This role will lead planning, production, promotion, and performance tracking across key digital channels while optimizing the marketing technology stack and managing paid media partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Planning, Production, Promotion & Performance
- Develop and execute multi-channel digital marketing campaigns.
- Oversee content production and promotional strategies across digital platforms.
- Track and report performance metrics, analyze trends, and optimize marketing efforts.
Website & Brand Management
- Maintain and enhance SmarterX and Marketing AI Institute website experiences.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints.
- Work with web developers and designers to improve UX and conversion rates.
Marketing Technology & Tools
- Manage and optimize marketing automation, CRM, and analytics tools.
- Identify and integrate AI-driven marketing solutions for efficiency and personalization.
Paid Media
- Manage external paid media partners/agencies.
- Oversee digital ad strategies, including PPC, display, and paid social.
- Ensure budget optimization and performance tracking of paid campaigns.
Integration Across Marketing AI Institute & AI Academy
- Align digital marketing efforts with Marketing AI Institute and AI Academy initiatives.
- Coordinate cross-promotions and digital content strategies across business units.
AI Agent Management
- Support AI agent planning, development, management and integration.
- Oversee and optimize AI-powered marketing assistants for campaign execution, audience engagement, and personalization.
- Ensure AI agents are continuously trained and refined for marketing automation and customer interactions.
- Leverage AI analytics to enhance digital marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in digital marketing, performance marketing, or demand generation.
- Expertise in website management, SEO, content marketing, and marketing automation.
- Strong understanding of AI-driven marketing tools and automation is a plus.
- Experience overseeing paid media campaigns and managing agency partnerships.
- Strong analytical skills to measure performance and optimize strategies.
- Deep experience with HubSpot is preferred.
- Advanced prompting abilities with standard LLMs and reasoning models.
- Extensive experience with OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and / or Microsoft Copilot.
