- AI Academy by SmarterX: Originally launched in 2020 under the Marketing AI Institute brand, AI Academy is being spun off as a dedicated site and brand. AI Academy is a high-growth business unit designed to prepare individuals and organizations for the future of work by making AI education accessible and personalized.
- The Artificial Intelligence Show: The podcast is SmarterX’s fastest growing media channel with 65,000+ downloads per month. The podcast serves as a promotional tool and lead generator for SmarterX and its business units.
SmarterX also has an internal AI Content Studio that supports audience growth, demand generation, and customer success across all brands / business units. The AI Content Studio produces blog posts, books, blueprints, courses, newsletters, podcasts, presentations, research, videos and webinars.
Role Overview
The Director of Business Account Sales, AI Academy will be responsible for driving lead qualification, nurturing, and conversion across business accounts.
The Director will serve as both a sales leader and AI Transformation Consultant for businesses, ensuring they maximize the value of AI Academy courses and certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Business Account Sales & Lead Management
- Lead qualification, nurturing, and conversion of business accounts from inbound forms, individual licenses, and CRM contacts.
- Develop and execute strategies to convert leads into long-term AI Academy customers.
- Optimize CRM processes to track and manage business sales pipeline.
Outbound Business Development for ICPs
- Proactively build a pipeline of new prospects.
- Develop tailored sales outreach and business development strategies.
- Qualify, nurture and close deals.
- Establish long-term, mutually beneficial relationships that drive enrollment and AI transformation.
Expert in AI Academy Courses & Certifications
- Serve as a trusted advisor to prospects on AI Academy courses, certifications, and the LMS.
- Provide guidance on AI workforce transformation strategies for businesses.
- Educate prospects on how AI Academy can upskill teams and drive competitive advantage.
AI Transformation Consulting
- Act as a strategic advisor to businesses considering AI adoption and workforce transformation.
- Develop tailored learning and implementation plans for corporate customers.
- Collaborate with internal teams to refine AI Academy offerings based on industry needs.
- Integrate SmarterX workshops, speaking solutions and event ticket sales as needed to accelerate AI literacy and transformation within customers’ companies.
AI Agent Management
- Support AI agent planning, development, management and integration.
- Oversee and optimize the use of AI-powered sales and support agents to enhance customer interactions.
- Ensure AI agents are trained with up-to-date information and provide accurate responses.
- Continuously evaluate and refine AI-driven sales engagement processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in B2B sales, partnerships, and business development.
- Strong understanding of AI, digital transformation, and workforce education.
- Experience selling enterprise education solutions, SaaS, or professional training programs.
- Ability to manage complex sales cycles and build long-term partnerships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and lead management best practices.
- Deep experience with HubSpot is preferred.
- Advanced prompting abilities with standard LLMs and reasoning models.
- Extensive experience with OpenAI ChatGPT, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini and / or Microsoft Copilot.
